IT Agenda 2006

Incubation Centers – Challenge for Replicating Success

Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been organizing seminars named ‘Goa Agenda’ for the last 3 years and is currently into its 4th year. Since its inception in the year 2002, Goa Agenda has drawn many IT luminaries to Goa for deliberations on various IT related topics such as IT for Society, Emerging Markets in IT and Outsourcing Challenges Ahead.

In the last few years India’s growth in the IT sector has been phenomenal. The first Goa Agenda in 2002 called ‘IT for Society’ deliberated to find out ways and means to use IT for benefit of all sections of the Society. In 2004 with the theme ‘Emerging Markets in IT’ the discussions moved to the emerging markets or the newer frontiers in IT, followed by a sneak preview of the Outsourcing industry, its challenges and what lay ahead in the year 2005 under the title ‘Outsourcing – Challenges Ahead’.

This year Goa Agenda takes a look at the entrepreneurial talents in the IT industry and how it can be fostered. Incubation center is the best known way of encouraging entrepreneurship. An Incubation Centre, with its services, business and management development, and networking capabilities, provides the young entrepreneur with a solid platform for starting and growing a business. The low cost space and shared services reduce overheads in the crucial early development stage of a new enterprise.

Eminent people from the industry will share their experiences; success & failures. The objective is to learn from their experiences and try to apply these lessons to Goa to get the desired effect.
