This department was instituted in 1989 to impart a course in Computer Engineering. At the college modern laboratory facilities are available to students throughout the year for 24 hrs. Students for their practical course as well as for projects - use both Windows98 /2000AS and Linux workstations and servers with the latest versions of software tools such as Oracle, Visual Studio.NET, MATLAB, JAVA, PHP, VJ++, MySQL, Access, PostgresSQL, LEX, YACC etc.

ETC DEPARTMENT: This department offers a 4-year degree course in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering with special emphasis on Digital Communication and Signal Processing.Information Technology. Facilities such as ISDN, switching devices, etc. are being acquired. This would allow the department to offer advanced courses in data communication thereby providing students an exposure to current technology in digital communication. The department laboratories include modern facilities for the study of electrical & electronic circuits, microprocessor-based computers & systems, communication systems and computer-aided design of VLSI circuits. Recently, facilities for PCB fabrication, trainers for VLSI design, transmission systems have been installed.

Computer & IT Department: This programme currently draws on the facilities and faculty of the Computer Engineering Department. A separate department building with modern computing facilities and classrooms for the programme is under construction.

The following subjects are covered in the four year Information Technology course:
Computer Science, Mathematics and Numerical Computing, Communication Engineering & Networks.
Central Computing Centre has more than 100 computers networked to meet the computing requirements of students and staff alike. The Centre is being used for online tests during campus recruitment.
