President's Foreword

Dear Friends,

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the Goa Agenda has emerged as an extremely successful program. The two IT conferences, conducted on a national level, under the brand Goa Agenda, ‘IT for Society’ and ‘Emerging Markets in IT’ has helped to put our state on the IT map of our country. From here we go one step further in honoring our commitment to the youth of Goa.

In our last Annual General Meeting I had promised to implement a programme, which will help the youth of Goa. The IT committee at the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry has designed a very innovative programme, ‘HR Connect’, to help the graduates in the field of Information Technology. Over the years it was noticed that very few leading companies come to Goa for campus recruitment. After a lot of deliberation it was found out that the reason behind this was they do not get a sizeable number students in one single college to choose from.

So our IT committee came up with a brilliant solution for this problem. They decided to have a programme whereby all the students who are pursuing graduate courses related to IT can come together, along with leading companies who are looking forward to employ them. HR Connect is an effort made by GCCI to provide a launch pad for the students of Goa so that they get better exposure and can ensure a bright future.

I am sure that HR connect will gain popularity among the corporates and the student community and will become an event to look forward to, every year.
