Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College of Arts, Science and Commerce is one of the institutions in the chain of educational establishments of the Dnyanprassarak Mandal, which was founded in 1908. The College began functioning in 1974 as a Commerce College only. Subsequently, Arts and Science (Computer Science, Chemistry and Electronics) faculties were introduced in 1996. The college has recently been accredited and awarded the B+ grade with a score of 78.99 at the All India Level by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The College has been securing outstanding results at the University level. The Electronics and Computer Science Departments have both achieved 100% results. A large number of students have passed with flying colours, securing first class and distinctions. The College has had 3 University rankers in Computer Science and Electronics, and many in Commerce so far.

The College has a well-equipped, fully air-conditioned Computer Laboratory with 35 computers. It has an ISDN Internet connection. The laboratory has operating systems of Windows, Linux and Novel Netware. The college offers two types of Information Technology and Computer related courses; university approved and autonomous.

The 3-year B.Sc (Computer Science) course starts with fundamentals and covers subjects like Database Management Systems, Software Engineering, Object Oriented Programming using C++ and Networking. Our students have completed projects in institutes like National Institute of Oceanography and Goa Science Center. These projects expose students to software, which may not be dealt with in College, as also to working environments in the industry.

The 3-year B.Sc (Electronics) Course covers a study of microprocessor organization, as well as languages of FORTRAN, C and C++ are also covered.
